Likely more so part of Japanese culture - 5S. the car itself is the 5th generation S(s360,s500,s600,s800,s2000) as well its for the fifth decade anniversary of Honda. And as previously mentioned was supposed to be a 5 cylinder.

Technically these dimples arent on ap1's and the s360 was never released, so the ap2 is the 5th generation S, but is also the 6S - which is noted below about the steering wheel

Forget the descriptions on the right, and think about those terms relative to the car

Now think about the car. How is it built...? The car is a representative of Japanese culture along with what Honda learned, A gift, The car is all culture and pride of Japanese Achievement.

Just like no one seems to have figured out the pockets behind the radio door is for a comb to fix your hair after riding with the top down - not for registration, thats the elastic in the glovebox.

PS: in some sub sects of Japanese culture there is the 6S, the sixth being safety. The 6 vertical dots are beside the horn, airbag. the S was also a huge deal for the safety technology put into a convertible.

After all these years, Stargate is the best and most correct explanation so far.

sure, but the honda 1988 civic sedan and honda cbr 1000rr were one of those most used prop cars in SG1 . so while the answer may be Stargate, it still comes back to Honda..
