Hi there. I have a little dilemma. I dont want to start an AP1 vs AP2 thread. I plan to buy an S2000 next year. I basically have 2 choices here:

1. I have a friend that said he may sell me his 2003 GPW S2000. It has a blue interior and has been babied and hardly driven since new. Right now the car only has 2500 miles and by next year (if he still has it) will most likely still have less than 3000 miles on it. It didnt sell from the dealership til about 2 years ago...so the warranty would over half gone by next year.

2. Order a new one next year. It would be nice to order one of the last 'real' S2000s (rumor has it the car could be changed/scrapped by 2010)

My S2000 will not be daily driven as I only put on about 1500-2000 miles per year. It will be stored during winters. I plan to keep my S2000 for a very long time.

Does anyone have a picture of an AP1 with the wing spoiler? (Not the CR one)

Thanks!
Yeah, I'm inclined to say buy the 03 as well, that's gorgeous... (I'm also an AP1 fan, but that's neither here nor there.)

EXCEPT - why did it sit at a dealership for 4 years or so??? That's insane! How many of those 2500 miles are "test drive" miles?

Even still, that's ridiculously low miles. Why the hell doesn't your friend drive the car he purchased? He is aware that it's just a Honda, right?

Well, I suppose that I shouldve mentioned that my friend who owns the car is a manager at a Honda dealer. So if I want it, I go see him and not my usual salesman. However, I have no clue why it took so long to sell....the only thing I can think of is that he just told anyone that it wasnt for sale. (Although I dont know for sure) He said he'll sell it to me for the right price of course. If not, he said he'll just keep it. Im still not sure what ill offer...they were $49,000 CAD new. He says it brings in the customers when its in the showroom for the winter. He registered the car about 2 and half years ago though.

He took me for a test drive 3 weeks ago...as I never driven in an S2000 before. I figured he might let me drive it....he didnt. So out of those miles...id say he put them on himself. He did show me what it can do though.

I certainly wouldn't pay anywhere close to $49,000 CAD though - low miles are nice, but its still 5 yrs old.

the MY03 isn't 49k. Brand new s2k's in Canada are 49k.

I would buy the GPW/blue interior because it's so rare and OEM. Not a GPW with a blue interior swapped.

If you only drive it a few thousand KM's each year and plan to keep it for a long time, that baby will be worth some big bucks in 20years mark my words.

Anyone know exactly how many GPW w/ blue interiors were made in Canada just for that year? i bet it's a similar number to how many Imola's are in Canada for 2007.

$49K is what it sold for new in 2003. This year S2000s start at $50,400 CAD.

Im just guessing he would still want at least mid 30s (CAD) for it.
