This is just an idea I'm running with. AFTER the next SoCal get-together, I'd like to take the car out to a place a co-worker of mine told me about where we can get a 2 miles stretch of flat surface to run as fast as we want without CHiPs taking us into custody. If you're interested, we'll make this the meet AFTER the upcoming SoCal meet. Tom, what do you think? I figure the weather out there would be cooler, and we can probably try and see how fast we can go in 2 miles (plus braking distance)...

Count me in!!! :D

Go for it mingster, sounds like fun to me.

Got my vote!

I think that we have a problem with the 11/12 date for the next SoCal Meet though. Two of the Eriks have indicated that this conflicts with ComDex, which runs 11/13-17. This of course, means that it probably also conflicts with the folowing weekend 11/17-18.

The weekend after that is Thanksgiving, which puts us into December and holiday parties.

I've got an autocross on 12/2, autocross school on 12/17, so for me, that leaves only 12/3, 12/9, 12/10 or 12/16 open. I'm guessing that people are going to have holiday conflicts.

:D hehehe, maybe we can get somebody with a camcorder to record the speedometer when we do this. remember that shaky video somebody made that went up to 153? i wonder if he was driving AND filming, if he was, then he's crazier than jackie chan.

Mingster, I'd like to hear more about this two-mile stretch where the CHP won't bother you; sounds too good to be true.

One of the NSX guys was telling me about getting access to a private road in Orange County where they did high-speed runs.

I think that I remember him saying 164 MPH.
