Exclamation whos driving around without spare + tools?

Debating If I should or not......for those who don't have a spare, have you had a tire pop out and did you use fix a flat?

Also if you called a tow truck, aren't you afraid that they will mess up your front lip? side skirts etc?

I'm getting 18 inch gold advans II next week and trying to debate if should keep spare......

I took out the spare and instead have a fuly packed tire repair kit and air pump.

I have 18s on the car now, the only time I won't be able to fix the tire is if I shread it or get someting in the sidewall.

Aren't you only able to use the spare on the front tires anyway?
I still have mine in the car, but not for flat purposes. I'm just installing a lightweight single exhaust soon, so I don't want to remove even more weight from the rear (trying to keep the car as evenly balanced as possible).

yea, if you blow the rear, you have to:

1. unmount the front tire
2. put the donut up front
3. unmount the blown rear
4. put the front tire on the back

if you don't, the differential will be under a lot of strain as the 2 rear wheels won't spin at the same rate with the donut. as a result, the LSD will be working itself to death trying to correct it.

So far, I have kept the spare, but think the repair kit / air pump is a good idea. Might even be faster than changing your tire, especially if you have a flat on the rear as you can't use the smaller spare tire there.

A bud of mine has the new Miata and it comes with some sort fix a flat, no spare.

I have never had one in my car. If I get a flat I'll call a wrecker. I am not going to get killed changing a tire on the side of the road.
