Why did you buy an S2000?

This is a great chance to share my story, again.
I had a couple of miatas and had just purchased a 2001 which was a new model. On the miata forum I met a guy who lived closed by and wanted to drive my car, so I said sure lets hook up, he had a 2000 S2000, which I was mildly curious about. I had heard they had no torque and a high rpm redline and bland styling...ok....we met up with another guy who had a Audi TT convertible so we compared cars. The audi guy was very unhappy with problems with suspension, electrics and what happened when you had a flat tire, etc....and he left soon. The S2000 guy took me out and drove the car and loved it. He said the S2000 was just not his cup of tea, the miata was so easy to drive and had just enough power for him. He encouraged me to drive the S and finally I did....I was impressed when he said, put your foot into it and don't shift till 9000 rpm....wow....I was sold.
Waiting for a few years with the Miata I never forgot the Honda. My miata had many problems, including a new engine, clutches, and brakes warping and a new gas tank and they sent me $500 cause it did not have the hp as advertised and offered to buy it back....I wanted that car...and I learned a crap car with a great warranty was not a good deal....so in 2003 I drove an AP1, which was a disaster as the sales person was a wimp and would not let me get on it or drive on the freeway....and was so fat i had to work around her to shift.
IOK out comes the ap2....i say...yes i want one...and the dealers were no longer trying to get an extra $5000 over sticker...well they tried but nobody was paying that.
It was 10/2003 and each dealer was getting maybe 2 S cars....I drove mine out of the showroom doors after I bought it...and dealt on the price, trading in my 3 year old miata for pennies on the dollar, it was a bad luck ride, not like the one I bought in 1990.
Fast forward 11 years...i love ths car. perhaps it is not as fast or evolved as newer cars but it is the best dam roadster I have owned and I intend to keep it a while longer. I do my own maintenance, all of it.

I always loved convertibles and sports cars. When I was in high school, the Boxster was the cool thing, but then this car came along that could eat its lunch for half price, plus anyone could afford to maintain it. I was sold. I loved the car. Then I read this. And I was obsessed:
