Is Maui different from Oahu and Kauai for driving roads? I was there earlier this year and was looking forward to driving in our rental convertible. It was, no doubt, perfect weather and beautiful scenery. But on the other hand, the roads were somewhat congested and the traffic always moved slow because of very low speed limits. So was disappointed in that aspect. The top down part was awesome but the roads didn't really allow a sports car to stretch it's legs. I saw one S2000 on the island of Oahu and one on Kauai. But felt sorry for the owners since they won't get to experience the car in it's full glory.

Are you saying you were in Maui or some where else? For my honeymoon, we rented one of the convertible camaros available from Hertz. There are some very remote back roads on Maui. If you go far enough on the "Road to Hana" around Haleakala, you'll definitely find some open and beautiful roads. Locals said that's where most of the street racers go. haha.

I fixed the thigh bolster on the driver's seat so now I am going to tackle the upper bolster with leather filler for cracking and a new dye job on the upper bolster. Nice to have a warm basement for projects...

Looks good! What exactly did you have to do? Based on your photo I can see a trend developing. Not of snowbound guys repairing their seats in the winter time, but simply removing their seats and setting them in their houses to watch a little TV, read, listen to music, or the obvious option of playing video games featuring the S2000, lol.

Put a battery tender on it. I haven't driven it for months and battery was down to 60%.

Thanks. I posted an amateur how to here.

I'm still going to redye the upper bolster after some filler cream.

It's funny because my 13 year old son thought that it would make a great gaming chair in the basement.
