Hello all,

I am looking to purchase my first S2000. I have been looking at this car since last summer and have been wanting this car since seeing F&F. I recently seen one I was ready to get. I met with the owner, test drove it. minor body wear and tear, the seats were in good condition and was garage kept. The deal came down to $12,200. The car itself is a 2002 ap1 with 96k miles, clean title. Would this be a good deal? I based it off of Kelly bluebook which showed $10,350 should be the starting point on negotiation. I'm in Illinois. Insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Moved to s2000 talk. So many details we need to know. Any kind of inspection? Color? Clean car facts? Kelly blue book is nearly always wrong for these cars. Same with the nada guide. Look what other s2000’s with similar miles and condition are listed for and selling for and go from there.

Without pics, proper inspection and a test drive, anything anyone here suggests will be somewhat subjective.
But with that said - I think the price is within ballpark plus/minus 5-10%...

Sounds like a good deal, especially if it's a red, black, or white car.

S2000s are dirt cheap in the US, this is a great time to buy one if you can get them that cheap as they should only go up from here if kept in good shape.
