As posted here, I had burnt exhaust valve seats replaced in 2016 at @65K. I just had my valves checked again, and while my exhaust were still ok, he said the intakes were tight. He set those to factory and the exhaust at .012. Might be a good idea for folks to have both sides checked. My car's an 06 with 78K on it.

Thanks so much Billman and all for the tremendously useful information on s2ki.
I did my first valve adjustment today, a bit over due.
2008, just over 135,000, all stock. I do not push the car hard often. I've owned it since 1264 mi.
The amazing thing for me is that the car still runs, and it runs very nicely.
Here is what I found

Intake/Exhaust
1 .009 .010/.009 .009
2 .011 .011/.006 .008
3 .011 .011/.008 .008
4 .012 .011/.009 .010

I adjusted all intake to .008 and all exhaust to 0.012.

The care runs well now. The little early lag seems less. However, it is probably all placebo.
At least, I feel better knowing that I no longer have an exhaust valve at .006

The spark plug tube gaskets were a pain in the ass all the way though.
First, the gasket set I got has THREE of them.
So, I went to local Honda dealers who usually don't have them in stock. The third one did.
Getting those old suckers out was a true challenge.
I used a piece of Reynolds 531 brake stay tube and a big hammer.
Getting the gaskets down over the top of the plug tubes took a while too.

Anyway, THANK YOU Billman and all the rest who have provided all this very useful information.

Adjusted my valves today on my 2006 AP2 with 73k. Overall, all exhaust valves were tight but no less than .005 except for cylinder 1, which my .005 gauge did not fit and that's the smallest gauge I have. Hopefully, no damage was done. Intakes were mostly on spec except for a couple. Adjusted exhausts to .012 and intakes .008.

Drove car on freeway and did a couple of hard pulls and then check engine light came on with the VSA light. Car lost power and rattled every minute or so. Once I got home I scanned the car and it was a P0369 code: Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor B Intermittent Interruption. Went back to check and the sensor was loosed so I disconnected battery and tightend the sensor. It sure fixed the issue and now car drives great. So glad I found this thread. Thank you Billman..

Cylinder 1 exhaust valve would not fit the smallest gauge I have .005

Be sure the cam sensor is completely seated all the way down in the VC. Common mistake.

Hi Bill - new member here and currently looking at 06 with 93k with zero mod. I did comp test on the car and found low compression (180-220-180-220). Previously owner(s) likely never done the valve adjustment. The seller lives in the middle of nowhere and 2.5 hr drive from me. The ideal next step would be to get a leak down done but it would be hard. The car drove fine, no overheating, , no smoke, no CEL, and I didn't see oil in the coolant.

Do you think valve adjustment will help with compression numbers?

I'm at a point where he's offering a lower price due to findings but I'm trying to determine how big of a risk it is.

No one will mistake me for Billman.

But, I'll just say this: do the leak down.
