04-05 AP2 F22C Short block availability

Block Assembly: 10002-PZX-A00
May I ask the difference between 10002-PZX-A00 and 10002-PZX-A01?
Was A01 improved version than A00?
I owned a 04-05 S2000 AP2 F22c but it's engine block was broken
I find that 10002-PZX-A01 was discontinued but I can still find 10002-PZX-A00.
I'm considering to buy the old version but need more advice
Thanks

Buying from where? That scammer on FB that claims to get them from Poland?

They aren't available anywhere for years.

I don't think that guy is a scammer. I've seen photos from people I trust who have those engines sitting in their garage from him. It doesn't matter though because it's an updated F20C not an F22.

There are some weird things with Honda producing parts for specific regions and not others. Look at the AP1 lips that have been out of production for a decade and that one vendor in Europe seemingly gets a batch of new ones (always only in silver) every couple of months. Even smaller parts like the color matched garnish around the trunk keyhole. It's discontinued in the US but I can order it from Japan.

I'm half tempted to try and order one of those engines just to see for myself.

Except I finally got him to give me the name of a dealership in Poland as proof and I contacted them and was literally told they have not been able to get them for years. They said that if someone did have them it would be because it was very old stock found somewhere. Guy said he was ordering them 10 at a time so that does not add up. That was the dealer he told me he got them from. He is also selling them for less than Honda sold them for when they still listed them. That is pretty fishy if you ask me. But hey, I will watch to see who wants to be the guinea pig. :)

Yeah I don't know, it's part of the reason I haven't thrown money his way. I've also seen people buy all the other OEM parts he has and haven't seen a single "he's a scammer" posts on Facebook by people who have done business with him. Deep down I hope he's legit. I would love to have a spare engine or two just in case.

In this scam filled world, if I was selling something legit, but that had a too good to be true aspect, I'd be very understanding of people asking me to prove I'm legit.

I'd go outta my way to show it. I'd be understanding if people were still wary even after I did something I thought should address their skepticism.

But this guy has been complete opposite of that. Certainly doesn't help his cause.

Aren't these old stock shortblocks a crapshoot anyway? Since they've been sitting for so long, etc. I'd imagine they'd need to be fully disassembled and reassembled again with proper lubrication etc, and tolerances re-checked. Unless of course they were stored in a climate-controlled environment and kept clean. Even still....

There is only one difference between the 04-05 2.2L shortblock, and the 06-09 2.2L shortblock…

The trigger wheel behind the timing cover.
