1/4 Mile Estimate
Forgive me for being a bit of a n00b but I saw this highly S2000 modified for sale at the same price as a new S2K with the following mods:
Turbo Charged and Intercooled Low Compression Forged Pistons (8.6:1) "I" Beam Billet Connecting Rods Heavy Duty Clutch MoTec ECU Bosch V8 Supercar injectors CAI K&N Filter Cruise Control Turbo Timer Twin Stainless steel exhaust It runs 18psi, netting 303kw (413bhp) at the crank, 266kw (355whp) at the wheels. (Dyno proven) It has had a three page feature in a local magazine but has never run a 1/4 mile and I was curious about what people estimated its 1/4 mile time would be? Thanks in advance |
Low 12's. Doesn't Team Hybrid have a car that is running that kind of hp ?
|
I'll guess 12.58 with slicks.

No way he is gunna run 12.58 w/ slicks........I would say 12.593 or maybe even 12.601

Do you have more info on this car? Custom turbo? Do you have pics or a way in which we can get a hold of the seller? From what I have seen by other members, at 18psi you should be able to get for than 355whp. This is the second person I have seen running a MOTEC (probably an M4 pro) on their S2000 and their both in Australia. If you know Adrian, formally of Hypertune and now of TODA Racing AU, he had a turbocharged S2k that used a large HKS GT turbo and a MOTEC. 1/4? 12.5 or lower. A nice 911 Turbo competitor. Let us know if you have any more information. -Anthony

You did not mention anything about exhaust ....
Anyway, running that MUCH boost, if the car is properly tuned and has more than 350rwhp....provided he doesn't have 500lbs of stereo stuff:D , that car should be good for low 12's with a good driver. Expect trap speeds between 115-120mph.... If you lived closer, I would run the sob for you!:) Slicks...bah! You will go through differentials like if it were underwear!:eek2: Angel |
Have a full diagnostic ran on the car, with that much boost, there is a possibility of damage to moving parts that would not be noticable to our sense of feel in the car. Take it to a tuner, and have them run a proper compression test to see if any cyclinder is falling off.

18psi and only 355whp  in my opinion that is just weak for that many pounds of boost

I don't know why but dyno's in Australia show generally lower numbers.
This is not only for the S2k but several other cars. Dynodynamics are the most commonly used dyno's around here. For example most s2k's show around 170rwhp on dynodynamics dyno's. So on other dyno's it should put down around 420rwhp. |
