1999 s2000. engine cuts out at 7000 RPM
Engine is cuting out on my S . Car is warmed 3 bars, did the map wack, cleaned the IACV.......... oil is full. Replaced the Vtech solonoid gasket and everything was fine. Just all of a sudden it started doing this..... MAP sensor is also cleaned ... the place it goes in is also cleaned. Read all the forums every where..... did everything suggested ..... Car is stock with only 62K miles. ..

Will swap the MAP and ECM today ....
Could bad fuel be the probleM? Car was in storage for 2.5 moths with a full tank of 98 octane... but no fuel octane booster....

You aren't getting a CEL code, after the engine cuts off at 7K?

Double check the connector to the MAP sensor... the later ones added a zip tie to hold it secure. The only high rpm stutter I ever had was that connector rattling. I just added a zip tie to mine.

this was the first thing I tried ... had no effect ... Car still feels like it hit a wall at 7000RPM. It's just like hitting the 9k rev limiter but at 7K. ....
