Tx S2k

I am doing a 2jz swap into my S and using a 350z trans with a collins adapter kit. the trans fits fine near the firewall and all the way back until it hits the brace that the trans mount is its a few inches to wide. Does anyone know if i could remove this brace and remake a smaller one or is this a LARGE structural point in our cars. Thanks
