39,377 miles and a blinking MRL...hmmmm...

Is this normal? Of course two things are true as I write this: 1) My owner's manual is at work, so I can't just look it up, and 2) I've never had the odo to 39,377 miles before, so no experience there.

As the subject indicates, I received a rapid succession of *blinks* on my Maintenance Required Light this evening coming home. Probably 10 blinks...but didn't count 'em all. Checked the odo at the moment it began blinking and that was the reading...39,377.

Now I know that I receive various "pre-warning" MLRs at various times, but I've never *caught* a blinking one during driving thus far (very possible that it has happened before...but I've just never noticed it -- tonight it was dark, other times could have happened in the daylight, etc.). I've seen the blinking light warn me when I start the car at appropriate "pre-warning" durations...as well as remain lit until reset, etc.). So if I've experienced all this other MLR stuff, you might be asking "why am I asking now?" Well, it blinked as I described above just as I rounded a hard left turn this evening and had my foot deeply into the accelerator :D...so I guess I just wanna make sure that the light didn't blink as a result of the conditions involved in my aggressive cornering...but rather that it was just a matter of ironic timing that I happened to be turning hard a the same time as the odo moved to a "pre-warning" alert status for the MLR.

Thanks in advance for letting me know what's what here.

BTW, my oil level is fine.

As long as it's not a CEL, i won't worry about it. MRL is running off of mileage and not specific to any sensor errors or malfunction.

Oh, also if you don't reset it will eventually stop blinking and stays on.
