When my car was brand new, they replaced my ECU because the first one was faulty. At that time they only had 1 of my keys, so that was the only key that was programmed into the ECU.
Does the service manual cover how to add more keys? Or does anyone here know how it's done? Or should I just stop by my dealer and have them do it? |

1. Turn ignition to ON
2. Within 1-4 seconds, push lock or unlock button. 3. Within 1-4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF. 4. Within 1-4 seconds, REPEAT STEPS 1-3 a total of FOUR times. On the fourth time, you should hear the locks try to move. 5. Within 1-4 seconds, press a lock or unlock button again and make sure it all works. 6. Within 10 seconds, you can press the lock or unlock buttons on up to two other transmitters that you will also use. Make sure you hear the door actuators with each remote. 7. Turn car to OFF and remove key. That should do it... cross your fingers. |
Rev, thanks for the post, but I didn't mean the Key-less entry devices.
I mean to program the ECU to accept new keys. (Immobilizer system) |
