No metal cutting! Just plastics. Removing the bumper is fairly simple - check out the first part of these instructions:
http://www.ricks2k.com/info/instructions/diffuser.pdf
Some of the bolts the above instructions call for you to remove are for the headlights, and some are for the bumper. You will not have to remove the bolts for the headlights.
Since this is your first time removing your bumper, there are 2 tips I'd like to share:
1 - After removing all the bumper-related bolts, you will find that the bumper can be a bear to pull off, but it will pull right off if you have removed all the bolts.
2 - There is 1 metal clip just inboard of each headlight. These clips are are what attach the bumper to the car at those 2 points, but when you pull the bumper off, those clips are exposed, jutting out from the newly loosened bumper. Take care not to let those clips ride up and scratch the paint on the car.

Did anyone else notice the pronounced upturn on the filter piping and the risk this presents washing the car and/or parking outside in the rain?
I would highly recommend covering the water drain holes under the hood that happen to be directly over the filter on the 4IG and AEM v1. Not to make everyone paranoid, but do a search and you will find more than one confirmed case of the pipe filling up with water while standing still.
I personally have the 4IG, covered the drain holes and have had no issues.
