Default Alignment question.

Guys:
I want to introduce myself, I have just bought my MY04 and have a question. I find the forum very informative and I love how we all share the same passion for cars and driving. With that said I have just taken my car for alignment and noticed the huge variances that Honda permits on their machine setup. Will these variances adversly affect the handling of the car? Or are they within your acceptance. In addition I could swear that the rear of the car is higher now than before. Is this possible? Im sorry for such a question.

thanks.

many people find the European alignment specs to be a good compromise between tread life and handling. If the car doesn't see much spirited driving, the standard alignment settings should be fine.

the rear seeming to be high might be from the settling of the front end. Maybe do a search for spring spacers to make sure they're not still on your car.

I would probably think twice about putting the UK specs on an 04. They are great for the earlier models but the 04 has different shocks and different spring rates.

I might try getting the car in the middle of the factory specs then adjusting from there. You may want to become good friends with your alignment guy to save you some money on alignment costs. I have aligned mine 4 different times with slighty different settings each time. I finally have it where I really like it.

BTW, I doubt that the car rides higher in the rear now. None of the alignment changes should be able to cause this.
