This thing is a simple piece of steel, right? Why couldn't we get someone to make a bunch of them? It can't cost that much. I would really like to have one, but I would only spend about 100 bones on it. Bueller? Anyone?

It's not a hinge. It's just the X-brace disassembled so that it may be shipped cheaply. Depending on tests you would either be required to bolt the two pieces together or weld them (probably the former).

The idea is the same rigidity for less liquidity

Aus, no offense, but I would rather buy a complete unit here in the US - I don't want to have to take this thing and get it welded. It just makes sense for someone here to do it. Shipping is expensive! I am not looking to bust your bubble on the braces, I just personally don't want that solution.

cmnsnse - let me know what you find out. I just want an x-brace at the price of $100. Nothing more, nothing less. But I don't want to have to piece it together!

OK just one peice would be a heck of alot cheaper than a take-a-part . . . because one beefy enough would require some machining in addition to the welding. I'll see what my costs are.

Would anybody want an Aluminum one? Im just thinking about longevity. Stainless would cost too much, and I dont like regular paint on something that close to the ground.

Maybe powdercoat?
