Wonder if the OEM oil filter was designed for high mileage, like 10,000? That kinda bothered me about leaving oil in an engine for extended lengths. I presume that cars which come from manufacturers designed for extended use between changes, have filters for that purpose. (?)

Just another WAG...

Hello? What about the great excuse an oil change is to escape to the man cave? Worth every penny and the engine cannot complain.

Since Honda already recommends changing the oil filter every other oil change, it can easily go 10,000 miles.

My '06 says to change the oil filter every other oil change so thats around 15,000 on my S. So yes the stock oil filter can go 10k miles easy.

I disagree. The primary advantage of using Signature Series 0W-30 is its high TBN that allows the user to extend OCIs significantly. If you look at the UOAs on BITOG you'll see most Signature Series users do extended OCIs.

I use Signature Series 0W-30 and I go 40,000 miles between oil changes. And I'm already at 342,000 miles on my S.
That blows my mind on your change intervals. Just curious how many Quarts of oil do you go through during that time to keep topped off? Maybe you don't/cant keep track though, not sure What are your oil filter change intervals? Surely not the same!

Slalom's car has found the proverbial fountain of youth, it is the most impressive wearing engine of any s2000's I've come across. I'm always amazed by his information, fantastic

I bought a case of 10w 30 Signature series, Will Post pictures of my setup in the near future.

However, I'm still gonna do the 6 month oil change for now. Will be autocrossing/track driving, spirited driving the car alot.

Just gonna follow the recommended oil change intervals per owners manual.

The signature series is marketed to be 25k mile or 1 year.....so the 40000 mile oil change is pretty insane.
I wont ever make 25k miles a year...even my daily driver makes only 10k miles per year.

So if I were to push my Oil Change, it would be only to once per year if I were to follow recommendation of Honda owner's manual + Marketing of Amsoil.

Will do a Black Stone test next year.
