AP1 headlights on an AP2?
The current owner of this 06 S2000 bought the car at an auction. The car was a bank repo. Is it me, or did someone swap out the stock headlights for AP1 units? (Second pic is just so you can see that it is an AP2.)
EDIT: The reason I ask is because I might buy the car and want to make sure I know as much as I can before committing to a purchase.

Those are ap1 heads and tails. nothing wrong with them, it's just a matter of preference.
What is the VIN of the Car? The Year is part of the VIN.
AP1 headlights, easy swap. AP1 taillights, unheard of swap. That would require cutting to get them to mount.
Post a pic of the VIN, Engine Bay, Dash cluster and center console. There are some key things we can look for that will tell us what model year the car really is.

If it was a bank repo is very possible alot of parts may have been swapped to ap1. You should post photos of the door panles, center console, seats, steering wheel, radio door, under the hood etc.
That way we can be certain the lights are not the only thing they swapped.

I had an appointment to see the car shortly after I posted this thread so I didn't get to see everyone's suggestions (I should have grabbed the VIN while I was there.) I was still very cautious about this s2000 and rightfully so. The first alarm bell went off when the "owner" pulled the car out of his garage. I was expecting to see a CA license plate on the car and instead it had a local used car dealer's placard on it. (Kow Loon auto in San Jose, CA.) Wasn't this supposed to be a private party sale?
I immediately found all of the answers I needed by simply looking under the hood. Looking down into the engine bay though the gap between the radiator and the air filter I could see the not so subtle steering column. The steering column had been painted a nasty green color which clearly isn't stock. The more I inspected the car the more I felt it had been heavily modified in more ways than I cared to imagine. The owner was kind enough to let me take it for a spin but even that felt off. The ride was EXTREMELY rough as was the car's acceleration through the gears.
Needless to say I walked away. Thanks for everyone's feedback and if I come across another S in similar condition, I will try to share what I learn. If for no other reason than to ward off other potential buyers.
