I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer. A japanese web site where I usually order parts (I'm in Australia) indicates that for a 2000 model the part number for a piston ring set is 13011-PCX-024. Other web sites however indicate these rings are for an '04+ model though (and that 13011-PCX-305 apply to 2000-03 models).

My gut tells me the Japanese part diagram is correct (and therefore the '04+ rings are an improved design that fits earlier years).

Can anybody shed any light before I order?

Get the latest and greatest, any s2k ring pack will work with all s2k pistons. The later the model year the better.
