AP1 Problem/s

My 02 AP1 recently started to act kinda weird.. a little tickle noise on the head... took out coils, Spark plugs and valve cover... adjusted the valves and the tickle went away.. so everything good... few weeks maybe 1 month I was driving to my girl job the car just shut down.. started it back up and it sounds like a STi.. I know the misfire issue that makes the car sound like a STi.. too out spark plugs and when im by cyl #4 the coil didn't wanted to pop out.. when I managed to take it out it was melted half of it still in the spark plug.. there's no way i can take out the spark plug...

Got it to a shop and they dont wanna touch the car.. they dont know how to work in my car...

last hope is getting it to the dealer for them to fix it... even tho they gonna rape me with the bill..

im mechanic but I dont have the tools to fix the screw if it damages...

with that said...

what could possible cause that?

My head hurts trying to read you post..... What's a girl job?

Anyway, your problem was caused by your spark plug backing out. You probably didn't have it torqued down adequately. There are several threads on the subject.

you didnt torque your plugs down which caused the spark to ark and melt your coilpacks.

Agreed, that really would be your only issue.

This what happened, 100% guaranteed. A PROPERLY tighten plug will NOT back out.

So...get another coil pack, and you will need to use a pick and dig out the old coil pack enough so you can get a spark plug socket on the plug and get it out.

Sad to say, this usually causes major engine damage as the cylinder draws air past the threads and runs super-lean. Small chance u may get lucky.

On average, how long does it take a plug to back out? Does it happen soon after the plug is installed or can happen a year later?? Just wondering since my S has been running funny. But i bought a tourque wrench and im pretty sure i did my plugs right about 4 months ago..still i get paranoid about it..

Thanks guys... I was thinking the same thing... Cylinder #4 have the screw all chewed.. don't know how that happened... and I don't have the tool to fix it myself... another head? or there's a way to fix it?.. if i re-make the screw it gonna be bigger.. and of course spark plug wont fit

for the grammar nazzies.. IDGAF about my grammar im not a writer..
