ap2 slipping clutch? or not? lol
Subscribeokay so here goes. i've had my s2000 for almost two years now and i just remember that my clutch used to grab more at the beginning of pedal travel from the bottom. these days, i notice my engagement seems high. from 0% to 60% it feels the same amount of friction (almost none) and from 60% to 85% i start to feel it and from 85% to 100% is where it actually grabs. i had my delay removed at like 3k miles. after seeing that thread with billman about the ap2's leaking oil over the clutch i dont know what to think anymore. i used to think maybe i glazed the clutch some as i was getting my stick driving down, but after not getting on it hard at all since school let out, i almost feel like the engagement is getting worse.
on the billman thread, some people said it would only slip on high rpm shifts, well thats what i have. it doesnt slip slip, the rpms just hover as it slips on a gear change, they dont rise until it fully grabs. the thing that confuses me is thats what people say happens because of the ap2's really heavy flywheel. so i dont know what to think anymore. do i have that leaking oil problem?? lol. how high is other stock clutch and pp ap2's engagements?
thanks for any insight into this matter.

the thread described oil was being leaked into the clutch area internally and no oil was seen outside the car. let me find the link for it.

If you were leaking oil, you would see it were you park your car.

When we did the Skaggs Springs Road run, I'm pretty sure you had it down. I gave all I was worth trying to lose your ass, but you stuck to me like glue Originally Posted by terahertz,Jul 9 2007, 11:41 PM

Just run it till it slips too much, then replace the pressure plate with the ACT pressure plate, OEM clutch disk, and a lighter flywheel.Originally Posted by terahertz,Jul 9 2007, 11:41 PM
