That is good to know. There is oil covering my VTEC solenoid but I have not taken the time to ensure it is coming from the top gasket yet. I can report back with any findings...

Please report back on your Kraken gasket status -- I just checked my receipts and my [Kraken] has been on my car for exactly 2 years now as well. No leaks yet, knock on wood.

Looks like it was a false alarm. I just cleaned up the VTEC solenoid and will continue to monitor it.

Just to be sure, you are talking about the Ballade gasket/seal kit or the one offered on eBay?

I'm talking about the Kraken gasket. The ballade gasket is certified junk.

My Kraken gasket lasted exactly 2yrs. I just replaced it with a new one and bought a back up just in case

I had purchased upper/lower gaskets from ballade only to read after the fact they will almost immediately fail. As it turns out what ballade shipped me was their own upper gasket and a OEM lower, so I ordered the kraken upper gasket and installed that and the OE. My leak was minor at best, just enough to slightly dirty the front of the head, I would have been really bummed if replacing the gaskets would have resulted in a more significant leak.

i bought a new vtec solenoid when that gasket started leaking and it's holding up well. =)

any additional feedback on the science of speed gasket? they have a good reputation.

I have one from Ballade that is leaking BAD! Horrible piece of plastic. I have a Kraken on the way. Kraken says a 3 year warranty, so that is good news.
