Battery Choices??
 

What is the current thoughts on the best battery replacement? I can get a "conventual" replacement for about $100 or the deep cycle batteries for 2-3 times the price? BTW she's a garage queen :)

OEM battery which is surprisingly decent, cost wise, and a battery tender or trickle charger of your choice.

Yep, that's my exact setup. Honda's OEM battery has a great warranty, which is pretty much the only thing to consider when looking at standard batteries since apparently they're all pretty much the same internally these days.

Whatever you get, a smart trickle charger will greatly increase the battery's lifespan. Costco Interstate batteries have served me well for all my vehicles (well priced and good warranty).

Unfortunately Costco doesn't carry a battery that is a direct fit. If you want one for our cars you'll have to live with + and - reversed and stretch the cables.

That's what I'm using too, have had great results.

I have had good results with Napa's top battery (Legend I think?). Had one last 6 or 7 years before I replaced it. OEM is known to be great as well. Definitely get a batter tender for the car as well.

Switched to a 11lb motorcycle battery. Car gets daily driven in the fair weather months. If I know i'm going for more then a couple days without driving I put it on the trickle charger. That little battery powers my stereo with small power amp, an aux water pump for the supercharger and pump for the water/meth injection bunch of aux gauges with sperate fuse panel. Car fires up like it has an oem battery. What you have to be careful of is forgetting and running the radio with car off for any real amount of time or your asking for a dead batt. $70 and works like OEM with no worries of explosions lol Trade off is again not running anything aux without the car running. Good way to lose about 25lb for cheap.

My Optima Yellow Top is on year 9 of it's life. They're not as cheap as they used to be though. I only went Optima after 2 conventional batteries leaked and ate away at my paint. I need the weight for NASA TT so I'll stay with a large battery.
