Battery short- car won't start
My vehicles all have permanent pigtails for battery hook-up (battery tenders) except the S2000- that car has a temporary pigtail (clamps on the battery), which I had left on the car when driving it today. Pulled in the driveway and the car died. Opened the hood and noticed that the pigtail end had opened and shorted. Car acts like it has a dead battery now. But the battery checks out just fine.
I get some power but only minor things like parking lights seem to be working.
Yes I know this is completely my dumb mistake- won't leave temporary pigtails in the car every again!
Any ideas for me?

crazy that the fuse in the pigtail didn't fry, but its fine... battery charges back to full charge easily. I will check the amps.
btw, that's a whole lotta stars you got Utah (+ its been awhile)!

tested with a power probe (I am NOT an electric guy, but I have some tools) at 13.7 until I put the tip of the probe to the battery- it then dropped quickly to 11 and did not recover. Replacing the battery will be my next step- have never lost complete power in this car before- will I need to re enter the radio code? anything else I need to know for the battery replacement?

13.7V system voltage but 11V on battery? Check battery connectors and cables for corrosion and burns.
Any time you disconnect the battery or fully discharge the battery you will have to enter the radio code and drive the car for a while to let the ECU adjust the tune. The ECU resets to the default settings any time it loses power. The ECU adjusts to what it considers optimum settings while you drive.

Change the battery, loose the code and get a new head unit; they have ones with clocks and such now.
