Berk HFC in OEM-style
Hi guys
now i've got a Berk 70mm HFC - thanks to Bryan for this smooth transaction  it looks and fits very good, but due to very rigorous police controls in switzerland i decided to hide the HFC from foreign looks with the original heat shield so i had to weld some brackets on the tube here is the result: http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/8360/p1030520v.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/488/p1030522j.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/975/p1030523s.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/1547/p1030524.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us i'm curious about how this HFC works in combination with the Ti-C single  greez Patrick |
Look really well built.

Nice! Looks just like the stock cat.
^That's awesome! I think more HFC/Testpipes should have flanges welded on to give ppl the option of putting the stock heat shield on.
awesome
awesome & agreed--this should be an option for high flow cats in case we want to put the heat shields back on.
Wow, that's a great idea.
wow - same problem here and that's wonderfull idea.
so did berk did those brackets? |
No, it looks like the op did that himself!
it's my own work
first i had to find the exact position and angle from the HFC to the heat shield i fixed it together with a tape then i cutted out cardboard to have templates for cutting out the sheets put the heat shied on the pipe and mark the position of the little tube with a M18x15 thread for the O2-Sensor drill a 5mm hole in the pipe al last i fixed the sheet cutouts with tape at the upper part of the shield (see Pic 3) and then spot-welded it at the pipe after this all sheets can be welded at the HFC as you know someone who is good in welding stainless steel it really no problem i took sheets of 2.5mm thick, so that most of the welding-heat goes on the bracket and so you can avoid burning holes in the pipe if someone is interessted, i have the cardboard templates i could try to make a drawing, scan it and load it up BTW: the Berk-HFC is awesome  the butt-dyno says the car runs as good as with the 70mm testpipe, but without smell and smoke didn't think this HFC has so much flow - great! and it sounds absolutely awesome with the Ti-C single behind it :D Again many thanks to Bryan@BerkTechnology!
