you'll get lots of opinions, but in general, don't source your diff fluid from Honda. You want to source an LSD compatible (but note below, not critical as noted by B serious) 75w90, 75w110. I use amsoil 75w110 for the diff and honda MTF for the trans.

Honda sells GL5 gear oil.

But then again...so does everyone else.

It doesn't have to be LSD compatible. The stock LSD is just a worm gear. Its not a clutch pack diff.

Amsoil manual transmission fluid will outlast the honda fluid 5 years to 1.

diff fluid pretty much standard across the board if you're using synthetic 90w

I saw your old post about the Amsoil Synthetic FM Transmission Fluid but didn't know if you'd ever followed up. You mentioned that you were impressed with it in a friend's car, but that it'd also had clutch fluid changed and clutch adjusted. Do you have an opinion on the Amsoil vs. OEM Honda?

amsoil manual transmission fluid is better than OEM honda. it will outlast the honda fluid for several years. the honda fluid can barely go a year before it feels notchy again, as with most other fluids like redline and gm. the amsoil fluid truly stands out.

@Billman, I recall you swapped Joe's diff fluid with 140 weight instead of 90 weight. What's the reasoning there? Is there a benefit for primarily street driven car versus track car?
