Brake Sticking after new caliper (need help)
I noticed my driver side front brake rotor is consistently hotter than the rest of the wheels and also the wheel did not spin freely when lifted off the ground. Sliders were in excellent shape and greased so I assumed the piston was rusted despite my frequent brake fluid changes. I changed the caliper and I am still experiencing the exact same symptoms, no better, no worse.
Based on the pictures of my rotor, is it possible the rust near the edge is causing my slight drag? They are the original rotors on my 2002. I have new rotors ready to go however when measured, mine are still within spec. I also did not want to risk warping a set of new rotors due to the heat of a dragging brake. Is there anything else that I may have missed that could be causing this? The wheel spins perfectly as soon as I pull the caliper.

The caliper pins aren't in backwards?

Caliper pins are installed correctly and moving freely. I am also going to rule out the MC as the rest of the braking system is working perfectly.
I have not previously heard of a rotor causing a brake to stick but I wanted some opinions from the community since so many of us store our cars for winter months which tends to be hard on some components. Open for any other suggestions before I test out a new set of rotors.

Check the hose from the caliper. I once had a failing hose that had damage on the inside that it restricted the brake fluid from returning. It kept enough residual pressure to do what you are describing.

I was going to say the same exact thing. Same thing happened to a friends car once.
