Broken timing chain question
I had new valves and exhaust guides replaced at 65,000 miles on my "01 S2000. The shop that did the work, and the machine shop are reputable, both being experienced sprint car builders. The engine was started twice and I was told it sounded good, on the third attempt to start it wouldn't, so investigation discovered a broken timing chain.
Any speculation on the possible cause?
Note: Work was done to correct constant c.e.l. (misfire code), valves were adjusted prior and ignition coils swapped with no change, leading to valve job.

Better not try to restart, before fixing the issue.
