A/C not working
My a/c stopped working. I had the car looked at today by a friend. When he hooked up the a/c machine to the valves, we heard a leak. He says he hasnt even turned it on yet, so it may have been a wierd coincidence. The leak is from my BOV rubbing on the A/C line in front of the center brace. Now my condensor, if thats what its called, is not turning on either when I hit the a/c button. Could it be the clutch or some other switch that may be bad? I just would like to know what parts I need to buy. The pressure in the system was still 70psi before it all leaked out.

if theres a leak and compressor may not turn on since it has sensors to sense what kinda of pressures in the system.. if it is within specs they may not turn on.. repair the leak and see how it goes from there.. oh yea once you repair it.. put it in a vacuum and see if it holds .. once your done with that test.. recharge the system and it should work

It seemed that the leak didnt start untill we where testing the system, the system wouldnt kick on before the leak.

Put dye in the system and see if there is a leak. Is the compressor getting pwr?

well first change the line with the hole in it. second, check if you can turn the compressor by hand. then have your friend pull a vaccum on the system for an hour and wait a few hours and see if there is still the same vaccum in the system. then from there you can determine if there is further fixing that needs to be done or you can charge it up. also check the lines to the sensors on the ac if they are damaged or anything.

any luck?

The a/c compressor has a safe mode: it will not engage with a low charge
well, have the pro sort it out for you, it's obvious too handful to look at over the net |
i have a problem with my S2000 (yr 2000) the A/C not working low side only pulls down to 70PSI low side I think it uses 134A cars after 1996 change from R12 to 134a so this should be 134A and I was hoping to get some help.
