Can we safely run our cars with 11.5 compression ratio?

any dyno reports tell little since there is no reports of a JDM car and a ROW car being measured on the same dyno
Excellent point - dyno techniques/equip are vastly different overseas and AUS. Comparing graphs is pointless unless the cars were run on the *same* dyno.

thanks guys for the great input. i guess i'll just wait for the warranty to expire before playing with it. i thought about getting a full set of spoon internals (cams, pistons, valves, springs, etc.), perhaps i'll wait a few more years.

since my head is already off the car, what can I do to increase the compression? UL please help, I do not want to put this back on to find out I could have done more.

The JDM head gasket is supposedly thinner.. the Spoon gasket certainly is.

That would be my suggestion too Chris. Should be a relatively cheap alernative than breaking down the short block.

you should ask Ming if he can get you a Spoon head gasket.

What is the ratio after the Spoon gasket? Why not just shave 40 thousanths off the head?

Yikes! doesnt that offset the timing? - since the distance b/w the gears and crank is different. Same question with adding the thinner gasket - do you need a set of adj gears to correct for the shortened distance?
