car dies after new alternator
so a week ago i was driving on the road
and all of the sudden i noticed eps lights coming on, but i didnt mind and kept driving home
cause i was only couple blocks away
as soon as i come to complete stop, my car died
and tried to start back up, acting like no battery, wont turn over.
so i got a jump cable tried to start, and work
but then as soon as i disconnect the cables, eps comes on again slowly car dies.
so in my knowledge i thought the alternator was bad, so i went to auto zone for a new one.
took a week to get one and changed today, and guess what SAME !!!
i know its not battery cause it wont shut off once its running if alternator is good.
so what can it be ??
can somebody enlighten me here please!!?

Being proactive and replacing parts is good but you should get some data before buying something as expensive as an alternator. Check the belt and tensioner, make sure the pulley on the alternator is actually spinning the alternator. Make certain Alternator is plugged in. If all those things are good, find a way to test the alternator. It could be bad, sometimes new parts aren't always working like they should. Keep us posted

Also check your grounds. I had more sever symptoms than you for a longer period of time and after buying 2 auto zone alternators and finally a $900 oem, my car still had power issues. Turned out the ground to the battery was corroded from within, hidden under the black loom.
