Cat-Back exhaust - gain for Open Track?

I've seen a lot of Solo-II folks switch to a different catback system - suppossedly for torque gains. But, looking over the dyno charts there doesn't appear to be much there - even with a header switch.
Is there a torque gain, does it persist right up to redline? What are people using - the Mugen system looks good, the CompTech system looks even better (different being the dual tubes out of the resonator).
What about drone at highway cruising RPM? That's a typical problem with most aftermarket systems...

There are only small gains with any of the cat back systems and even a loss reported with some. With the Mugen header there is a small torque gain at low rpm that aids drivability around town and enough gain in the 6 to 7.5 range to consistently measure but not necessarily feel.
All of the exhaust systems seem to introduce a lot of interior noise (not much deadening). The two I have tried (HKS, Mugen) both have a little boom at low/mid rpm with some throttle positions (a bit more pronounced with the HKS), but highway cruising is normally at a higher, quieter rpm.

As mentioned, the advantages are weight reduction, different sound & look, and small a power increase. At a relatively high cost.
