CEL with 1399,301 and 302
K i new about the miss fire before i had bought the car.
I work at honda and i know the diognoses for this and what not, but my question is.
my s2000 has 34 000 miles on it and the 1st and 2nd cylinder have a miss fire Hence the 301 and 302 codes.
Now would i just change out the coil packs? because the car still runs and pulls hard with no engine noise or vibration/bouncing.
Is there something else that could be the problem (spark plugs have not even 2500 miles on them)
has anyone encountered this problem before? maybe a wiring issue or something?
i mean coilpacks are 60 bucks a pop which is nothing but i dont wanna change them and still have this problem.

Have one of the techs have a look at it to determine the best place to start. Dont go about this like most mechanics and throw new parts at a problem unitl one of them fixes it, have a proper diagnosis done to determine the root cause of the problem.

Examine the spark plugs before you start replacing anything -- they're very indicative of what's going on.
I agree, do not just start replacing things at random.

Random1's is a great thread...
I've condensed a lot about what we've learned relating to the misfire issue here:

Do a compression test. I had the same symptoms and had low comp in #2 cylinder. Comptec machine found all the valve guides worn and valves stuck. Had to replace all the exhaust valves. now it runs perfectly
