Changing VTEC Engagement w/o Tuning
Hello,
Noticed after a decade of ownership that lowering VTEC would increase midrange, is the car mapped for lower VTEC engagement? What is the most simple way to do this? Is it possible to have a trigger button in the cabin, or will it usually cruise on the low-cam at low load?

you can lower the vtec engagement point 500-600 rpms without any tuning on a stock setup with basic bolt-ons, you can lower it more with tuning and additional aftermarket parts (straight pipe etc). You can get more gains with some leaning out of the air-fuel mixture but you need to do some tuning to know for sure and to do it safely. Any basic vtec controller like mentioned above will work, I've been running mine for a while now and I really like it. I also prefer a smooth vtec engagement point at lower rpms rather than a harsh one at higher rpms, it helps with handling in long sweeping curves, and in wet weather conditions, smooth is better IMO.

My FlashPro allows me to enter the software and type in whatever RPM I want for VTEC to engage. Dirt simple! Also useless unless the fuel tables are adjusted (and I've no clue what else). This is why you need a knowledgeable tuner for the car. If what you propose was possible it would have been done 17 years ago maybe with something like a micro switch on the accelerator to trip VTEC at full throttle regardless of what the ECU wants.
If you have a 2006 or later a Gernby FlashPro tune will transform your car. Otherwise you need an aftermarket ECU. Horsepower per dollar price is much more expensive than supercharging. Per dollar.
