Cheap OEM Honda Clutch Option (Sachs Honda FCC Nachi etc.)

Not sure how well known this is, but I ordered an OEM Sachs clutch from RockAuto for $360.99 + ~$10 shipping due to the OEM Honda FCC Components in the stock picture and sure enough, OEM Honda FCC components arrived in the box as well as a Nachi Japan Pilot bearing. The only thing that isn't Honda OEM is the Throwout/Release Bearing but I'm sure Sachs (BMW Merc VW OEM supplier) would not source a non-quality component. Not bad considering I priced out a friction disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing from a Honda dealer (AFHK Parts) and it came up to $620 + shipping. The Ballade Sports NA kit which also has FCC OEM components is listed for $450 + shipping. I also purchased (and later returned) the Brute Power/Perfection Clutch kit under the same premises ($272 at the time) and it arrived with different components than the FCC Honda ones in its ad pic. Anyway, just thought I'd share. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...dbbc9dc0c0.jpg

First time in 15 years I’ve seen someone claim they got an oem disc through the aftermarket and actually do it, nice job.

Can you post the numbers of both bearings?

The oem TO bearing has some unusual power to last over 150,000 miles, while the non oem ones spit the grease shield out and fail in about 20k.

I love RockAuto.

If I order in the AM, packages are sometime on my porch when I get home the next day.

So there's no markings at all on the TO Bearing. Pilot Bearing is Nachi Japan 6904NSE

You can't use non-existent German car reliability to infer Sachs would make quality clutch components for this car. When you make an $80,000 car that has failing injectors @ 22k miles, or water pumps that are designed to fail like clockwork at 60k miles, or engines that foul plugs in 18k miles, or have intake valves that require media blasting every 30k miles you stop associating the words German and reliable in an automotive context.

That said, props on finding out about this, because even if you buy the release bearing from Honda the whole kit still comes out cheaper than buying from Honda. Nice find.

You're probably right, still, throw-out bearing aside, I'm fairly content with the kits value

Please put these on your car and update this thread after 20k miles.

Too bad that RockAuto doesn't seem to offer that OEM Honda clutch disc separately.
