Clutch burn after new clutch install

I changed my clutch out on my 2004 s2000 replaced it with a OEM clutch. Now my clutch pedal is firm as hell but the actual issue is that now when I drive and im at a stop or when i get home i can smell my clutch burned during the ride

Faint or strong smell? Any slippage that you can detect?

Good deal for no slippage. Seems like a faint smell and that can occur on new clutch installs. Give it a hundred miles or so and I bet it will go away. Let it seat or bed in.

Is your clutch pedal properly adjusted?

how much freeplay is there?

My new oem and act clutch install (new pp, flywheel, disk, plus bearings, guide, etc) gave faint friction material smeall for the first several weeks of use (500-1k miles). Then it went away and has been perfect since.

Of course, whenever you replace a part, you're hyper sensitive to noises and smells and anything abnormal related to whatever you worked on. So you tend to detect things you'd otherwise never pay attention to.

Unless its strong smell, its probably normal, and you being hyper sensitive.

Not sure about other installs, but my clutch was very soft after a new install. I did do all new flywheel, throwout, pp and disk so maybe that's why.

I would think the primary factor for clutch pressure is the pressure plate.

New clutch installs usually result in a very soft pedal.
