Default Clutch problem. Im clueless.

Around June I removed the CDV from my slave cylinder. The car rode great, and nothing was different in the clutch or tranny.

5 months later Im starting to think something is wrong.

My clutch engagement is very off. It engages very high, almost to the point where it will stall. I can take off in 1st, 2nd or 3rd from a stop. The thing is though, the clutch doesnt slip, non of the gears grind, and the clutch/tranny make no noises.

Im stumped. The car has 7k miles on it. Its my 3rd manual car, 2nd s2000. Ive never blown a clutch before, and I drive my s2000 normal. No launches, no racing, no ginding.

What do you guys think my problem is? Do I need a new clutch, or should I look into the CDV being the problem.

i dont know about this car, as i havent had the opportunity to do it yet, but on my supra the engagement level on the pedal could be adjusted. But then again that was a supra. get under there and look around the clutch pedal, there may be adjusting bolts you can tweak with to set it how you want it.

Unless the thread starter has adjusted it already, there is no need to adjust it as it has been perfectly adjusted from the factory.

Why would the motor stall if your clutch is engaging high If the pedal comes up near the top before the cluch engages, that means the clutch is not engaging right away which doesn't explain why your motor is stalling.

Are you sure your clutch is not engaging low

I wouldn't make a habit out of taking off from a standstill in 3rd gear.

I agree....I wouldn't do that.

Check your clutch fluid master cylinder under the hood. Also the clutch pedal itself to see if it's spongy or firm. Get under and check for leaks in the slave or bleed valve.

You may need to bleed the line again. I'd try that before buying a new clutch. Afterall you stated it's not slipping.
