Compression test numbers

Default Compression test numbers

so i did a compression test on my car today.... i did a dry test and a wet test with a tespoon of oil in each cycinder.


DRY WET
1- 197 215

2- 185 200

3- 191 215

4 191 215



so what do you guys see wrong with this.....

please let me know.

needs ring job or engine rebuild.

Yeah rings are looking pretty worn. Probably can still drive it for a good while though.

was the engine warmed up? did you have the throttle open all the way. did you remove all the plugs before testing.

pretty even numbers

it wasnt warmed up, and ya it was at open throttle.

Could be a valve adjustment as well. Have you ever done one?

should do it again with it warm. it makes a huge difference

will it make a difference on the wet test?

i did the valve adjustment like 20,000 miles ago.

both dry and wet will be effected but all compression test should be down with the engine warmed up

Have you done a leak down test to see where it's losing compression?
