Used to safety-wire the motorcycles all the time. You never know what you'll lose 10 miles away from any tools, in the middle of nowhere. I used baling wire.

this is a very difficult question to answer.

the extra warranty sounds fair, but there should also be some amount of monetary compensation for the increased wear/unnoticeable damage that occurred. maybe that could be in the form of an extra year or 10,000 miles of warranty.

also, it is my opinion that if you really loved your S, you wouldn't let a Honda dealership work on it.

Dealer owes you a motor, plain and simple. If they say no, offer them the chance to inspect all the bearing surfaces, which will cost them as much as a motor.

another option would be...keep the replacement motor in a crate and drive the car as is until this one fails...
