Denso Ignition Coils Same as Stock ?
I sold a set of Okada coils and picked up a new set of Denso ignition coils for my Ap1. I went with Denso ignition coils part number 673-2301 , they are made in Japan, and recommended for 04-05 S2000's. At $45 a piece they seemed like a decent price given that Denso makes the factory coils. I avoided any of the made in china coils that can be found for less. The Densos have a good weight to them, and are the exact same shape as OEM. Are these coils as good as the Honda branded Densos ?. I ran them today for the first time, they seem to run fine - smooth and the engine fires up quickly. Honda coils in my area are about 3 times the price of the Denso replacements that I picked up.

Found them on walmart.com for $40. They are the 04-05 model number Denso and yes they work great!

I'm going to run these with plug gaps around .043" which should be the recommended gap (1.1mm). I know the factory plat. NGK plugs come gapped around .039" when brand new, as they are intended to be used for 100,000 miles and gap erosion causes the gap to increase up to the service limit of .051" over their expected life. I run NGK IX-series plugs which need to be gapped upon installation, I tend to replace the plugs every few years as I don't run my plugs for 100,000 miles, so I like to start them at .043". Gaps okay at this setting ?
