Default Did I overrev?!

I was accelerating at 1st gear when at around 7200RPM, I hit a very smooth surface on the road (railroad tracks) and the RPMs suddenly shot up to redline. Because of my confusion, it was at redline for maybe 2 seconds. I've never experienced anything like that before. It sounded like the engine was fine then all of a sudden it just screamed at me. I guess the better way to describe the experience is if you are running the car at around 7200 then suddenly disengage the clutch without letting go of the gas.

Is this considered an overrev? Did I damage my baby??? Help!

So does that mean I did not go past the rev limit? I am on an AP2 BTW, our rev limit is 8200?

Sounds like your wheels lost traction for a moment as you where going over a slippery surface.

You can only over-rev on downshift or mis-shift. Otherwise the rev-limiter will kick in to prevent any damage.
