Did oil change no vtec?
5w-40 motul 8100 5L
big Baldwin b202 filter handtight
reused magnetic plug 17mm hand tight and a bit of a turn
Cold start
Oil psi 96-98
oil temp Lo
Cold driving low throttle
90s-hi
oil temps lo-140s
Steady psi 90-96
warm driving
psi - 90-96
steady throttle 89-94
temps 190-210 in California weather 1 hour commutes with traffic, city, and freeway partial.
Will see again after after leaving work in 4 hours if vtec engages.
When crossing 6k rpm I don't seem to feel engagement or oil psi remains above 80. Big oil filter or too tight?

Any reason why you strayed from oem filter? The oem s2000 filter is model specific by Honda and I think it's for good reason. Bypass filter pressure, oil pressure, flow rates at very high rpm. I'm sure Baldwin are good filters but I'd always opt for something that's engineered to suit rather than a generic application.
Also, any chance you knocked the vtec switch on side of the block when putting the filter on?

When I bought my car in the fall I stopped by the dealership for an oil filter. Dude there told me that the OEM filter has some baffles in it (or similar) which keeps the oil pressure at a certain level... said that not using an OEM filter will cause issues. I figured it was BS but perhaps there's truth to it.

.I went with Baldwin due to "rround" on s2ki writing a good article about. I shall check this vtec switch when I can on break
Edit: switch is still connected

PCX-004 filter all day long- not a civic filter, not an odyssey filter, an s2000 filter- torqued properly- not hand tight ever. use the proper torque spec in the FSM, or 7/8 turn past initial contact.
that's the law in my garage.
oh yes, oil pan bolt to 33 lb ft- not"hand tight with a bit of a turn"...what is that?
stop messing about with your s2000. do it right.

It means my torque wrench didn't click at 29ft lb I set it at and I had no other choice. I tested it on a lug nut and it just kept pulling with human torque and no click to indicate, if you were in my situation that would have been the best idea to not over torque the drain bolt. The filter was hand tight with oily hands, shouldn't be too bad but that's personal opinion of course. I know I omitted those two details but I believe it was not necessary.

i still wouldn't trust the oil filter torque.
