It turns out the lefty threads (used mostly by Chrysler) didn't actually fare any better at preventing loosening than righty tightly on all four corners. So they stopped doing it that way. Like 50 years ago as already mentioned.

If correct lug nuts used and torqued correctly they will reliably stay tight.

My habit is to tighten them to torque spec, drive a day, and then check torque again. They are always fine.

Checking after some mileage is good practice. If I have time I torque three times. 50 - 70 - 80.
