Newbie here, any thread that has covered my topic would be greatly appreciated. If not, is there any information that will show me how to take the transmission case apart so I can see what's making noise inside?

Taking it apart is easy, putting it back together properly is the hard part.

There is a rebuild thread around but it really takes detailed work an expensive parts to get anywhere... I would say that 95% of DIY guys (including me) are not up to it. I bought a wrecking yard transmission when I had a problem and found it was the cheapest fastest fix I could do.
