Well, there's the grip safety and the thumb safety, so I GUESS you're safe, right? Mine only has the thumb safety, but it's SAO (and not a 1911).

Thumb safety is up. (which is on) Grip safety not depressed. It's also not loaded in the pic... Other than for cleaning it stays cocked, locked and 1 in the pipe.

Wow, what a well-written and superbly-illustrated how-to post.

As someone who has tried to take decent pictures under the dash and only ended up with washed-out or too-dark or bad-angle pictures, I respect the effort it must have taken to get shots that nice.

6. The column will lower as you unscrew these nuts. Watch your head.
