DIY? Seibon Hoods, and a mechnical Prob
Hey guys, this may be useful to anyone installing a Seibon hood.
When my MG style hood was installed after paint by the body shop, they lined it up perfect as you can get a Seibon, and it looked great.
2 months later..call it "settleing of the hood?" all of a sudden, my car starts misfiring, losing power, etc.
Pop the hood, car is back to normal
Long story short... the bottom of the Seibon hood started rubbing the MAP sensor!!!
So, grab your dremel, you will need to remove about a 1 inch square piece of the underside of the hood.
here is what I did.
1. sprayed the MAP sensor with simple green
2. close hood
3. open hood
4. Where i saw simple green on underside of hood, I dremeled away
5. shut hood
6. DONE
Hope that helps
Im not sure if anyone else had this prob, and I dont know if its worth doing until you have the prob. The area that i cut has NO structural support. But if you do do it, youll never have the possible prob!
