6203LU http://www.ebay.com/itm/6203LU-NTN-N...item1e9acf13a7
6203LLH http://www.ebay.com/itm/6203LLH-NTN-...item234ca405f2

Think I'm going to go with these since they seem to be exact stock replacements.

Why did Honda choose to use two different ones?

I went with 2 SKF 6203 2RSJEM bearings, rated to 19,000rpm. I think the rubber seals are plenty sufficient at the given rpms, I also think most grease used in about any bearing is more than enough for the conditions, steel balls are also plenty. The biggest limiter IMO is the cage with high rpm applications

Wow, thanks for all the additional info on the pulley bearing replacement guys.

With my prolonged, high-RPM usage (track driving), I just plan to keep buying inexpensive replacement bearings and checking them often (couple times a season).

Everyting measured on the top of the ribs:
Crank : Ø132mm
Tensioner : Ø75mm
Idler (smooth) : Ø90mm
Pump (smooth) : Ø136mm
Alternator : Ø 60mm

So the tensioner gets up to 15840 rpm.

Where did you, bgoetz, find the SKF 6203 2RSJEM ?
The smooth idler has the relatively simple NTN 6203 LU
Why did Honda, or the manufacturer of the tensioner unit (could be NTN, they also make the TCT tensioner) pick the LHX3?
It "must" be something special.

I stand by my statement, the hybrid ceramic bearings will EASILY handle anything south of 150,00rpm. But I rather put my money where my mouth is. I will use a hybrid ceramic on the tensioner and report back my experience.

Any new 6203 bearing will work, because it will fit.
Question is: how long?
I've taken roller bearings out of machines that "hmm... it sounds a bit rough.. don't you think?"
We found that the cage was gone, one or 2 balls were gone and the rest had flat spots.
So you wonder how that part was still running, but it was.

We're (me) are probably splitting hairs with the discussion about LLH or RSL or..etc.

I'm almost certain my idler bearings are shot on this car. I'm getting a loud screech on startup, and it's definitely not a noise the belts could make.

Will the 6203 2RSJEMs be okay to use?

The screech you sound is most likely your starter, it's common to a lot of S2k's but yes any 6203 2rs bearing will work on both tensioner and idler pulley. Ceramic hybrid bearing from VBX work like a charm, definitely quieter than my old idler pulley bearing.

I remember that when I had my AP1, the starter would stick on cold starts. And, now that I think about it, the screech I'm getting with this car only occurs when it's cold outside too. I'll look into this. Good call, sir.
