Sure, give it a good washing and re-oil using the K&N kit, should make the color right. The pleats being bent look bad but shouldn't cause any problems. You can try to bend them back to straight, or rotate the filter 180* and see if the other side is less bent up .

Why don't you order a cleaning kit from k&n. The filters are supposed to last damn near forever with proper care

If you want to replace it, just get any good fitting filter ie KN, AFE, AEM dry flow etc. Bigger the better, just as long as it fits the 4" opening if that's what it is and fits in the space/location.

Thanks guys I'll try and clean it and bend it back but just to confirm the bends shouldn't cause any performance issue right? I imagine air flow isnt 100% perfect

yea.

if you really don't like the bends, and don't want a new filter, can always purchase a prefilter sock to go over it

will that restrict air flow?

Good time to upgrade to a dry style filter like aem makes. Surely they make one that fits.

I use a water resistant prefilter on mine (because hood vents) and don't notice any performance difference.

Only way to know is to put a air filter restriction gauge on your intake. I put one on my '06 and went 90k miles on a Wix air filter without any restriction.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...ilter-1163927/

If the stock air filter puts no restriction(as shown by a air filter restriction gauge) how can a filter that flows more cfm make more power?
If the engine is getting 100% of the air it wants at WOT with no restriction, putting a larger filter on it won' t get you more hp.
If someone on here can show me how a filter that causes no restriction cost the engine hp I'd like to hear your theory on that.

Dude,

If you scrolled down on your kits product page :

K&N doesnt hide this stuff. Its all universal parts. You could measure dimensions and purchase what you like if this is too much for you.
