Default Dyno to test car's condition?

I have an MY02 and my girlfriend has an MY07. My 02 feels a good deal slower than my girlfriend's, so how appropriate would it be to dyno my car to measure how healthy my car is doing? I've read that the AP2s are only marginally faster than the AP1. Or should I just do some maintainence or get a checkup?
I know this questions sounds quite retarded as the gearing is different and AP2s have more torque
Thanks.

Torque would give you an "impression" that it's faster. Run her from 2nd gear, I was beat by a car

My car is a MY2000 and has just over 123,000 miles on it. It had 6 miles on it when I bought it so I know exactly where its been and how its maintained. My car has never dynoed well, and never will. I have come to accept that, but I often wondered over the years how my car would actually do against younger S2000s. The best way (for me) was to start attending track days and learn how to really drive my car. At the same time, I could finally get a real measuring stick of not just my driving skills but also how my car does against a variety of other S2000s in a straight line at WOT and in the twisties.

I learned that despite my feelings of jealousy over the upgrades made to every s2k since the year 2000, the only thing holding me back on a track is the limits of my driving skill. It's not really the car, even after 123,000 miles of wear and tear.

By the way is that your gf in your avatar pic? If so, more power to you! Who cares if you can't beat her in a quarter mile!

^ Maybe I'll try a dyno.
I would take it autocrossing, but I just don't like some of the people that are regulars, although most of them are friendly.
Yep that's my girlfriend. But it's not fair she's faster. haha

compression test, leakdown test will give you a good baseline to work with.

dyno wouldn't hurt if you want to brag about it

when i got my car dyno'd i learned more than just my hp.

im an ap2 and put down only 199 with intake and exhaust.

turns out my car from the factory is running real rich.

AFR is like 11.5 and only hits 13 for 400 rpm in vtec. then it drops back down to around 12.

which also explains my crappy gas mileage too.....
